ERCIYES UNIVERSITY BARRIER-FREE CAMPUS UNIT ACTIVITY REPORT (2020)
In 2020, 3 faculties of our university, namely Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Tourism, were entitled to receive awards in the category of Spatial Accessibility by the Council of Higher Education at the flag awards competition. The unit participated in the online training, conducted in cooperation with the Barrier-free Campus Unit and Employment Agency of Türkiye, on “Career Planning, Skills for Seeking Job, Labor Market, Personal Space, Effective Communication and Interview Techniques" with the students with and without disabilities. A live talk program was organized on Zoom and YouTube platforms with Istiklal Special Education Vocational School on the occasion of December 3 International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
In order to find solutions to the course material problem and additional problems encountered in the exam due to pandemic conditions in 2020, necessary support was provided by listening to the problems of our students with disabilities through the online group. Preparations for audio library works were completed for our visually-impaired students, but these works could not be in progress due to pandemic.
