• to identify educational, scholarship, administrative, physical, housing, social and similar needs of students with special needs enrolled in higher education programs while they continue their education, and to offer solutions and make necessary arrangements in order to determine and eliminate the measures to be taken so as to meet these needs,
• to ensure that the educational environment of students with special needs is organized in a way that will not hinder their academic, physical, psychological and social lives,
• to take measures for the provision of equipment, research and accommodation opportunities and for the preparation of course materials for the students with special needs,
• to carry out publishing activities for students and instructors, to prepare documents that inform the instructors about the disability or the disabled, the limitations of this situation and the required arrangements, to increase the level of awareness, to provide consultancy services for the relevant individuals, and to provide in-service training when necessary. To develop programs and projects on these issues,
• to prepare and carry out the working schedule of the unit, to prepare the annual budget draft and annual report and present it to the vice-rector,
• to organize seminars, conferences and symposiums for the benefit of students with special needs,
• to create a website that allows students with special needs at our university to express their problems and wishes and to communicate with the relevant unit,
• to take steps in the direction of providing free auxiliary equipment for the students with special needs who have financial difficulties,
• In order to enable all the students to be evaluated fairly and accurately and to ensure the equality of opportunity and to make the education process meaningful for the students with disabilities, to take the necessary measures and to make arrangements according to the differences of students with disabilities arising from time, place, materials, companion and the nature of the disability,
• to prepare informative books that give information about employment opportunities and occupations/to have them prepared, and to ensure that they are delivered to the students with special needs,
• to establish communication and to cooperate with the disabled student units of other universities,
• to establish a data collection and archive unit within the Barrier-free Campus Unit in order to provide more efficient services for the students with special needs,
• to make plans to provide support of voluntary university students and student clubs for the students with special needs and to create a student support pool,
• to give priority to part-time work planning in order to support the students with special needs who are in need,
• to determine the scholarship requirements of the students with special needs and to evaluate their scholarship requests,
• to provide the support of a psychologist and a psychological counselor for identifying and meeting the psycho-social needs of the students with special needs.
• to take necessary measures for the participation of the students with special needs in social activities organized within the university.
• to take necessary measures for the orientation of the students with special needs who have just started education.
• to determine the assistive technology (orthesis-prosthesis, etc.) needs of the students with special needs and to launch initiatives for their supply.
• to prepare a report regarding higher education programs in which students with special needs can study to be notified to the Center for Evaluation, Selection and Placement (OSYM) before the Student Selection Exam applications; to work on service models and to make applications and evaluations.
Vision
• to identify social problems that our students with special needs have from the first day they enter our university due to the conditions in our university system, and to develop suggestions and projects and implement them by ensuring the participation of our disabled students on the way to the solution,
• to carry out activities related to disability problems by carrying out social activities that increase the awareness of academic and administrative staff,
• to create the conditions that will enable our students with special needs to benefit from our university in the best way throughout their education process,
• to be in cooperation and coordination with other institutions regarding the problems of the disabled and to contribute to the developments in this matter,
• to support the planning and implementation of social projects involving the problems of the disabled in the activities to be carried out within the scope of community service practices,
• to make information sharing sustainable by sharing the social rights of our students with special needs through the web with up-to-date evaluations,
• to institutionalize cooperation, participation and feedback in solving problems and creating new service models,
• to make the "Social Support Line" application functional, where our students with special needs can contact by phone to share and solve their problems,
• to support all the students with special needs who study at Erciyes University in education, social and cultural fields and to contribute to the creation of a pioneering university where all obstacles are overcome,
• to make necessary physical arrangements (such as ramps, toilets for the disabled, elevators, parking lots for the disabled) in our university.
• to create a web page that includes publications, documents and information on the subjects falling within the scope of the unit's duties and activities, enables students with special needs studying at universities to express their problems and wishes and allows communication with the relevant unit,

• to establish service units such as audio library, technology laboratory, etc. according to the disability groups, to provide coordination with other existing audio libraries and laboratories,
• to ensure and support the participation of the individuals with special needs in social, cultural and sports activities,

• to provide career planning, professional development, psychological and personal counseling services, and to cooperate with psychologists, social workers and educators in this direction,

• to give priority to the students with special needs regarding scholarships, free meals and similar opportunities.
